Bateria pornește motorul și alimentează electronica. Durează în general 4–6 ani. Semne de îmbătrânire: pornire greoaie dimineața, becuri slabe, electronică ce se resetează. Iarna e când cedează cel mai des, pentru că frigul reduce capacitatea.
Alege capacitatea (Ah) și curentul de pornire (EN/CCA) cel puțin egale cu cele din dotare, plus tipul corect (EFB/AGM pentru mașini cu Start-Stop). Nu monta o baterie mai slabă decât cea originală. Mărci: Bosch, Varta, Exide, Rombat.

În general 4–6 ani. Frigul iernii scoate la iveală o baterie obosită.
Ce baterie aleg pentru o mașină cu Start-Stop?
Una de tip EFB sau AGM, conform dotării — bateriile obișnuite nu rezistă la ciclurile frecvente ale sistemului Start-Stop.
Contează amperajul bateriei?
Da — alege capacitatea (Ah) și curentul de pornire (CCA/EN) cel puțin egale cu ale bateriei originale.
